This is a 15-day trip to South Africa including Victoria Falls & Botswana. This particular trip is designed as a small

Route 66 will be 100 years old in 2026.
The trip will be taken by motorcoach and will travel through Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New
Mexico, Arizona and California. While the route will be the same going west and returning eastbound, we will stop in
different places and see different roadside attractions in each direction. This will keep the trip fresh even though we
will be traveling the same highway. I created a new word… ALAWAH! This stands for As Long As We Are Here!

2026 Alaska Update!
The Alaska Trip for 2026 sold out very quickly. It came to my attention that we had over 60 people on the wait list –
clearly enough people for a second trip. So, we got busy and made arrangements for a second
trip that is nearly the same as the first! Different dates! We started calling the wait list until the 52 seats were filled. A
few people opted to remain on the wait list for the original Alaska trip. Since the new trip will take place first, rather than

This trip includes 3 nights at the Grand Hotel, the motorcoach, ferry boat to and from the island, carriage ride
around the island, afternoon tea & cookies, many other activities, classes and entertainment, 3 dinners, 3
breakfasts, and lots more. It is like a ‘land cruise’ with many included activities like fudgie bingo, movies, contests, a
cocktail reception and more. This year’s trip will also include 2 Grand Buffet Luncheons and lots of sales since it is the
end of the season. We have also included a luncheon buffet at Audie’s in Mackinaw City before we take the ferry to the
Island. This trip is offered in cooperation with MRPA (Michigan Recreation and Parks Association).

Please Note: All rooms are “luck of the draw”! I can put in a request if you have a particular need, but there is no
guarantee. Last minute requests are extremely difficult to obtain. Please let us know when you sign up if you need a
walk in shower, grab bars, 1 bed, 2 beds, etc. With over 500 seniors at the hotel, we cannot accommodate every request.
The departure meetings will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please

The trip includes a self-guided tour of the Creation Museum which brings the pages of the Bible to life; a visit to
the Ark Encounter which allows you to go at your own pace through the life-sized reconstruction of Noah’s Ark; 1 night
stay at the Hampton Inn, 1 breakfast and 1 luncheon buffet; and the motorcoach transportation. Casual dress throughout
the trip. You will be taking your own bag to and from your room. Keep it light! Luggage tags will be handed out at the
bus. This is a trip which calls for only an overnight bag. Motorized carts are available for rent at each facility on a
first come – first serve basis for those who may need it.

School Christmas program, and 15 year old Beverly has been cast as Mary. Her mother, Karin, and the other church
basement ladies serve up the laughs and lutefisk as a new parish worker arrives and catches Pastor’s eye.
