The new look for Travel…
As we begin to open up the world of travel again, I’m beginning to think about what that might look like for us.
These are some of the things you may experience as a little different!

1. I will eliminate the use of reusable name tags.

2. Face masks will be highly recommended for use on the bus.

3. We will disembark the bus using airplane dismissal style instead of switching sides.

4. While the bus has installed hand sanitizer at the entrance and the rear of the bus, you may want
to bring a small personal container for times you are not on the bus.

5. Buffets will likely become more obsolete and be replaced with travelers being served.

6. For the immediate future, we will have less people on the bus.


Monday Morning Memories

Since we are still limited in the area of travel and folks seem to be missing the adventure, I thought I could offer
an opportunity to travel back in our historical archives and enjoy the adventures of the past. I will select a poem from
a past trip and read it each Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. beginning on August 3 rd. You can enjoy listening by going
to Ann’s Adventures page on Facebook. I will live stream at 9:00 a.m. If you are not available at that time, you can
always listen to it later.

If you’ve heard about IKEA, but have never been there or you would like to go again, now is your chance!  This
shopping experience is not like any other store.  They have everything for the home… (no clothes!)  There are small
items as well as big furniture items.  We will have the entire luggage bays to bring home any great bargains you might
find!  The restaurant on the premises is currently closed but the bistro is available for takeout for a break or for lunch.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes.  Bring your blue Ikea bag and your orange “family” membership card if
you’ve been before.  You are welcome to bring a cooler if there are frozen food items you’d like to purchase from the
grocery section.
A reminder that Ikea accepts credit cards, debit cards and cash.  No personal checks are accepted.  We should
return about 3:30 – 4:00 p.m.

including Linton’s Enchanted Gardens “Holiday Village” and the Christmas Feast Dinner and the Shipshewana
Majestic Noel.  This amazing show is filled with non-stop equestrian adventures of all kinds featuring some of the
most beautiful horses anywhere.  Along with incredibly talented riders from all around the world.  This show also
features lovely and death-defying aerialists, performing jaw dropping routines, high in the air, with a blend of beauty
and grace combined with danger and bravery that will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions!  You’ll witness all
the festive lights that make Christmas so grand, you’ll sing along with world class vocalists to all your favorite
traditional songs of the season, as well as some new favorites!  You dance along with the Yuletide dancers as
they do their part to spread Christmas cheer and you will laugh at our hilarious comedy throughout the show,
including a moment when a cow thinks he’s a reindeer!  Mostly, you will be transported back to your childhood, and
experience a feeling you may have forgotten about for many years…that childlike innocence and excitement that
only the Christmas season can bring.  Christmas is without a doubt the most special time of the year, and “Noel” is
proud and honored to share with you the real Reason we celebrate Christmas, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
“Noel” features one of the largest living nativities anywhere, complete with a re-creation of the stable and
manger in Bethlehem where the savior was born.  A glorious Angel on horseback heralds the Lord’s coming as
wise men from the East with real life camels come to witness the blessed miracle, as well as the townspeople
with their sheep, goats, donkeys and cows.  The powerful music and narration of our nativity scene, and the message
of hope and everlasting life that it brings will change your life!

We’ll drive through the 2 million LED lights of light displays before spending the night at the Holiday Inn
Express in Elkhart.  On our 2nd day, we will visit several places including an Amish Wind Chime Maker, a
Mennonite Jam/Butter Maker, a Basket Maker and a popcorn shop.  Another unique stop will be a camel Dairy
Farm.  We’ll enjoy a great Amish wedding feast before heading home to Clio.

This new experience to get us in the Holiday mood will be lots of fun.  The show has over 3500 seats and we will
be able to be socially distanced while enjoying it!

It began all the way back in 1633. Oberammergau was suffering from the Bubonic Plague. The surviving villagers
appealed for Divine intervention to save their families. They vowed that if God were to spare them, they would
perform a Passion Play every ten years. They say not a single person fell victim to the Plague after that. Keeping
their promise, the people of Oberammergau performed the first play in 1634 and have continued to do so throughout
the centuries.
Today, many of Oberammergau’s residents still take part in this powerful work of art featuring dramatic
performances, beautiful music and choral accompaniment. The residents of Oberammergau will again perform The
Passion Play in 2022.
This trip will visit Berlin, Hamburg, Marburg, Rothenburg and the Oberammergau Region. This newly
